DAMILANO

The origins of the Damilano farming company date back to over a century ago, when Giuseppe Borgogno, the great-grandfather of the current owners, started to grow and make wine from his own grapes. This tradition was kept up by Giacomo Damilano, the founder’s son-in-law, together with his childrenuntil it passed on to his four grandchildren: Guido, Margherita, Paolo and Mario, who very attentively manage their forefathers’ land today. The wines produced are renowned for their upright style and the estate is widely appreciated thanks to the strictness and passion that accompany all of the company’s activities.

2004 BARBERA D’ALBA LABLU

A versatile wine which accompanies simple and at times also country-style dishes. Ruby red in colour, it has a fruity bouquet of blackberries, cherries and strawberries, with scent of cinnamon, vanilla and green pepper. Full-bodied and pleasantly fresh. Maceration in stainless steel for 10 days and fermentation at controlled temperature. Aged in 50% new barriques, 50% barriques, 2nd/3rd ageing for 16 months.

2005 NEBBIOLO D’ALBA

Fairly intense ruby red with hints of garnet, this wine has a dry, velvety flavour. It accompanies hearty first courses and red meat dishes. Light and delicate, with hints of violet and red fruit. Dry, full-bodied, velvety and harmonious. Traditional fermentation for 8/10 days at controlled temperature. Aged in 50% new barriques, 50% barriques, 2nd/3rd ageing for 16 months.

This is a wine that is associated with the great traditional foods of Piedmont, it accompanies white truffle-based dishes and braised meats. Garnet red with hints of orange. Aromas of wild berries, licorice and cocoa. Full-bodied, robust and austere, but velvety and harmonious. Rotary fermenter for 8 days at controlled temperature. Aged in 50% new tonneaux, 50% barriques, 2nd/3rd ageing for 24 months.

2006 BAROLO CANNUBI

A sumptuous wine which combines with white truffle-based dishes and braised meats. Garnet red with hints of orange. Aromas are ample and embracing, with pronounced fruity notes of cherry and plum and notes of tobacco, licorice and cocoa. The palate is harmonious; pleasantly dry with soft tannins, broad and full bodied. Persistent finish. Ready to drink now, excellent also within the next 10/15 years.

2006 BAROLO DOCG LECINQUEVIGNE

This perfumed red evokes flowers and spice, with elegance. The wild cherry, licorice, tobacco and mineral notes lead to a lean, tightly wound finish. Best from 2013 through 2020.
