ETHAN WINES

Second generation winemaker, Ethan Lundquist, is the son of famous Robert Lundquist, one of the original Rhone Rangers and proprietor of the Qupe Winery. Ethan was stomping grapes and topping off barrels since he was seven years old. Growing up around the winery was more than influential because he now shares his father’s passion for wine. His focus on doing small lots of premium wines from special single vineyard sites. He believes in old world techniques and traditional methods of wine making. Of course a huge part of making a great wine for him starts in the vineyard. Ethan works closely with his vineyard managers to produce the best possible fruit.

2005 VIOGNIER PARADISE ROAD VINEYARD
+726353 · 12x750ml

The Paradise Road vineyard is located deep in the Santa Ynez Mountains on the banks of the rugged upper Santa Ynez River, with warm days and cool mountain nights. The Paradise Road vineyard is the warmest of Santa Barbara vineyards, approximating Australia in climate. This wine displays tropical fruits and citrus with nice hints of spices. It has a nice backbone with good natural acidity. My favorite pairing is with spicy foods, especially Thai food, and curries.

Then the wine was aged for 30 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. This is a wine which will drink nicely for the next 3-5 years. Shows of deep cherry fruit, with wood spice on the back end.
