BODEGA SOTTANO

Don Fioravante Sottano, from Veneto in Italy, settled down in Mendoza in 1890. He was a pioneer, promoting the agriculture and the industry in the region, planting vineyards to produce wine in his own winery and, later on, exporting it. He motivated others to follow in his footsteps. Nowadays, encouraged by the passion that their predecessors passed on, the three brothers: Diego, Pablo and Mauricio Sottano continue building the future of the family business on solid foundations.

2011 CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Intense, deep dark cherry colour with notes of coffee, cassis, tobacco and spices on the nose. Full bodied with soft and ripe tannins. Developed and mouth filling, the palate has ripe berry notes, smoke, earth and cedar. Soft hints of vanilla with black cherry on the finish. Well integrated oak. Aged in French oak.

2010 MERLOT

The Merlot is an intense bright wine with an elegant nose with aromas of jam and red fruits such as plums and cherries. The maturation on oak provides additional, nice balanced flavors of chocolate and tobacco. In the mouth the wine is intense and complex, long-persistent sweet and round tannins that provide a good body and good finish. Delicious with red meat and heavy sauces to stews.

2010 RESERVA MALBEC

Clear, deep ruby-purple appearance. Clean, medium intensity plum and pepper with earthy blackberry aromas. Dry, medium acidity and mild tannins, with a medium body. Ripe dark fruits dominate, with a sweet spiciness and hints of oak and leather.

2007 RESERVA CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Aged 12 months in new oak barrels (70% French / 30% American) and then stored for 12 months in bottle. A classic cabernet in every way. Strong cassis and raspberry tie into a well developed cedar and spice bouquet. The wine is full bodied with dusty tannins. The palate has juicy red berries and plum mixed with black currant, earth and cedar notes. A well balanced wine that continues to provide silky fruits, berry and oak notes well after consumption.

2009 JUDAS MALBEC

Dark and deep smelling, with cola, berry and earth tones. Overall this is a cool and collected wine; it’s tight and structured, with firm tannins and attractive flavors of dark berry, coffee, chocolate and fine herbs. Toasty and still fairly oaky on the finish. Drink now through 2014.
