DAMILANO

The origins of the Damilano farming company date back to over a century ago, when Giuseppe Borgogno, the great-grandfather of the current owners, started to grow and make wine from his own grapes. This tradition was kept up by Giacomo Damilano, the founder’s son-in-law, together with his children until it passed on to his four grandchildren: Guido, Margherita, Paolo and Mario, who very attentively manage their forefathers’ land today. The wines produced are renowned for their upright style and the estate is widely appreciated thanks to the strictness and passion that accompany all of the company’s activities.

2017 LANGHE ARNEIS

+752496 · 6x750ml

100% Arneis. This wine has an unmistakable straw yellow color and a dry, harmonious taste with moderate acidity. The Arneis is fresh and clean with floral and citrus aromas and flavors; ripe and smooth, it has peach, passion fruit and jasmine tea flavors that have a nutty edge, structured with a hint of tannin.
Great with starters, first course, and vegetable dishes. Try white meats like turkey and chicken. In terms of sauces for an Arneis food pairing, go with a carbonara, lighter cheesesauces, and milder curries. In the summer we like cold ham and salami as well as ham cooked on the bone.

If you are new to Nebbiolo, this is an extremely likable wine.

2013 BAROLO DOCG LECINQUEVIGNE

+725251 · 6x750ml

100% Nebbiolo. Nebbiolo grapes from three different vineyards see a fairly short maceration to create this orange-tinged Barolo. While there is a firm core of red and black cherry fruit, it is much more defined by sanguine, non-fruit edge. Rusted iron and savory, herbal spice sing through, like a well-seasoned red sauce, with punchy tannins.
Serve with hearty first courses and red meats. Serve at 16-17oC.
